Mechanex-PMM Live Seminar Line-Up Announced

Mechanex-PMM Live Seminar Line-Up Announced

The team behind Mechanex-PMM Live has announced this year’s seminar line-up for the Sandown Park event on November 12-13th.

As anticipation builds for next month’s Mechanex-PMM Live show in Sandown Park, Surrey, the team behind the free-to-attend show has announced the complete line-up that will appear on the PMM Live technical seminar stand.

After the most recent Mechanex event took place in Harrogate in May, the team received feedback from visitors that more focus on diagnostics and ADAS was needed. This reflects the growing real-world complexity of modern cars and the increasing difficulty with which the aftermarket can access and diagnose vehicle fault data.

In response, the team made a greater effort to cover more technical, diagnostic issues on the seminar stand offering in November. This began with talks with the two sponsor brands of the seminar stand, ALLDATA and Bosch, both of which agreed with Mechanex-PMM Live’s drive towards a seminar line-up which covered data, diagnostics and ADAS.

In addition, Mechanex stalwart Neil Pattemore, technical director at IAAF, will be discussing what potential future the aftermarket may have if it doesn’t react to the changing data landscape.

Back again this year is Schaeffler’s REPXPERT Alistair Mason, once again impressing audiences with his expert knowledge of technical repairs. This year, the PMM favourite will be talking attendees through how the premium aftermarket brand is helping independent garages thrive.

Lastly, the IGA will be providing attendees an industry update, lending their authority within the aftermarket to a comprehensive overview of sector changes which is not to be missed. See the full seminar line-up below.

Professional development

As an exclusive bonus for visitors to the Mechanex-PMM Live technical seminar stand, every attendee can claim one CPD point for each seminar attended. Continuous Professional Development points count towards technical schemes workshops may be a part of, including the IMI’s TechSafe scheme. CPD is becoming more important as cars become more technical, and Mechanex-PMM Live remains the only aftermarket show to reward visitors in such a way.

Beyond the seminar stand, visitors to the show will have plenty to keep them informed and entertained with nearly 60 exhibitors from across the aftermarket, including Mann-Hummel, Opus IVS, Bilstein and show sponsor Dewalt Auto. Many exhibitors are providing exclusive show offers and discounts, meaning Mechanex-PMM Live is a great way to spend a day out of the workshop.

10.30 – Bosch Technical Talk | Live Guide to ESI[tronic] Diagnostics

Bosch will be offering attendees to the PMM Live seminar stand an overview and a practical guide to its ESI[tronic] Evolution Diagnostics software, which offers garage owners direct access to Bosch diagnostics experts’ knowledge. New features for 2024 include a new user interface and start screen, direct access to diagnostic features and original documents where original equipment manufacturer information is directly accessible.

11.15 – Neil Pattemore, IAAF | The Aftermarket Thrives Today, but What About Tomorrow?

As vehicle technology and vehicle type approval requirements increasingly change the way that vehicles can be diagnosed, serviced and maintained, Neil Pattemore looks at how the UK aftermarket can no longer expect ‘business as usual’, but needs to build on its current position to prosper in the future. With a life-long career in the aftermarket, Neil is able to draw on his knowledge and experience to explain what businesses need to know to ensure their future success.

12.15 – ALLDATA Europe’s Simon Frost | Why You Need to Access Technical Data

At Mechanex, ALLDATA Europe UK Sales Director, Simon Frost, will spearhead a team of ALLDATA experts, all dedicated to illustrating the benefits of using genuine and unedited OEM data in the day-to-day running of a business. Simon will take to the stage to champion the importance of official technical data in today’s challenging and complex workshop arena.

13.00 – Bosch Technical Talk | Making the Most Out of ADAS

In recognition of the increasing prevalence of ADAS fitment to vehicles coming into independent workshops Bosch will be discussing this important topic. The latest developments for the established Bosch DAS 3000 platform will be on show, and Bosch experts will be on hand to provide demonstrations and answer questions. Bosch also aims to provide an immersive and informative experience for visitors to its stand.

13.45 – Schaeffler’s Repxpert Alistair Mason | Providing Support and Opportunities to the Aftermarket

Alistair will be showing how Schaeffler can help workshops maximise repair opportunities with confidence. By using the tools, training and products Schaeffler provides, including REPXPERT, Alistair will discuss how technicians can carry out quality repairs efficiently and professionally.

14.30 – Independent Garage Association | Industry Updates

As usual, the IGA will be providing Mechanex visitors with its essential annual industry update. For all vehicle testers and anyone else who would like to keep abreast of changes in the aftermarket, this talk is not to be missed!
