Delphi braking van brings a ‘Taste of America’

Delphi has hit the road visiting The Parts Alliance’s garage customers as part of the Dream Drive promotion.

Dream Drive is running through March and April, during this time the Delphi branded van, promising a ‘taste of America’, will be visiting garages serving hot drinks as well as treats like Hersheys Chocolate bars to eager technicians.

Scratch cards, included with all sets of Delphi brake pads, will see six lucky winners going on Route 66 road trips covering eight states. They will visit landmarks including Lake Michigan, Grand Canyon National Park, Las Vegas and the Hoover dam, to name but a few.

Before any customers hit Route 66, the Delphi van will be racking up the miles too. The aim is to visit over 450 garages. In total, the van will cover 2,700 miles – slightly more than the 2,451 miles of the Route 66 itself.

It’s estimated that over 1,800 Hershey chocolate bars will be consumed and more than 1,400 cups of tea and coffee drank during the van’s 9 week tour.

“Garages can learn about Dream Drive on the van’s screen, which shows three-time BTCC champion Matt Neal explaining things,” said Julian Goulding, UK Marketing Manager at Delphi. “The van also showcases the technology in our brake pads.”

Delphi pads are manufactured to meet OE standards, with heat absorbing underlayers, noise reducing chamfers and dampening shims as well as pressed steel back plates. 20 unique friction formulations ensure a close match for each vehicle.

“There’s some real excitement around this campaign,” said Simon Moore, Head of Marketing at The Parts Alliance. “The van adds an interactive element that’s great fun, though of course it’s ultimately a serious issue that customers opt for quality braking solutions.”
