Health & Safety at work

As today is World Health & Safety at work day, we thought we’d bring you three products that will help protect you in the workshop.

DICKIES – Coveralls

Health & Safety at workThe specialist workwear company has a range of great value, highly popular coveralls suitable for the automotive environment.

The hard-wearing (260gsm fabric) Redhawk Stud Front coverall has proved popular with tyre fitters. Functional and durable, these garments retain Dickies traditional construction standards.

The Redhawk offers a comfort fit design with side elastication to retain agility and a tunnel waistband. The coverall also features several handy pockets including two large pockets with side access, a pen pocket on the sleeve, a back pocket, rule pocket on the right leg and knee pad pouches.

Most importantly, the coverall has been thoughtfully styled with a concealed two stud fronted design to prevent scratches to paintwork, making this the coverall of choice for body repair professionals.

This product comes in three colours and is also available with a zip front if preferred.

LASER TOOLS – Safety goggles

Health & Safety at workThis new set of safety goggles with detachable face shield from Laser Tools (part number 6514, pictured above), is designed to meet ANSI standards and manufactured from polycarbonate, for glass-like transparency, high strength, toughness and heat resistance.

The goggles are comfortable, with a vented frame to stop them steaming up and an easily-adjustable strap. The detachable face shield makes this a very flexible combination and is lighter and less bulky than the usual face shield.

Comfortable, practical and with the exceptional impact strength of polycarbonate, it is designed for a long and useful life in the toughest workshop.

HONEYWELL – Safety footwear

Health & Safety at workThis new range of safety footwear uses innovative sole unit technology to help reduce slips, trips and falls in the logistics, transportation and automotive sectors.

Certified to EN ISO 20345:2011 requirements for safety footwear, the Otter Active range is also petrol, oil and abrasion resistant and is S3 SRC tested and approved, providing the highest level of slip resistance. Shocks and vibrations are also absorbed thanks to the PU midsole.

Six lightweight and metal-free products are available within the Otter Active range; three with leather-free, microfiber uppers and three with premium leather uppers.

Boot, shoe and sandal-style options are available, all of which are approved by the Electrostatic Discharge Association (ESD).
