Repairify outlines latest calibration scheme

Repairify Innovations’ Technical Director, Martin Brown discusses its new calibration scheme with PMM.

Tell us about the asTech system

As part of the Repairify family of businesses, asTech is a leading provider of remote diagnostic solutions and services to the collision industry. We deliver cutting edge, expert diagnostics to provide safe and accurate repairs. This includes remote scanning, diagnostics, and calibrations using its patented technology, while providing virtual support through certified technicians. Our technicians can service many trouble codes remotely and provide real time assistance to technicians when needed. We also offer mobile repair and calibration services.

Tell us about asTech’s product offering

asTech’s remote diagnostic device, together with our certified technicians and OEM factory scan tools, accurately searches for, identifies, and resolves the diagnostic, electronic, and computer-related trouble codes resulting from electronic issues that are undetectable via visual inspection.

This proposition is designed to enable repairers to conform with IIR requirements launched in April. This will allow our repair partners to provide services to their customers without heavy upfront equipment costs. This will support them in developing their teams and offering an additional, yet critical, service. This generates new income streams and to make sure their customers are covering all safety aspects of the repair process.

What benefits can a business take advantage of by using asTech’s digital ADAS equipment?

There are two key benefits from using this equipment: the first is that it provides businesses with new revenue streams that they previously wouldn’t have been able to access. The second is that the equipment enables the technicians to be more efficient, due to the speed in which the vehicle is calibrated using the digital service compared to manual board kits.

This increase in efficiency then leads to a reduction in key-to-key times, which improves customer satisfaction, and streamlines efficiency within the business.

Does the company offer any training for its products?

asTech offers delivery and installation alongside user training. The training will see the technician receive a competency certificate.

Who are some of the key people within the company, and what are their responsibilities?

Martin Brown, Technical Director of Repairify Innovations, whose responsibilities are product development across Repairify’s international division.

Richard Taylor is the European business development director. His responsibilities are to sell and develop our product offering across Europe. Finally, Matthew, the European sales manager, oversees distribution and SMR for all products and services.

With the ‘connected car’ becoming more of a staple within the industry, what place does ADAS equipment have in the automotive aftermarket?

As ADAS becomes standard equipment in vehicles, supplying and stocking ADAS equipment on the workshop floor will be commonplace. With this area being an untapped revenue stream, it is important that businesses, whether they are a single site or a large group, invest in the correct equipment to follow the correct repair procedures.
