Mechanex – PMM Live Surrey 2024 preview

In an ever-busier trade show calendar, only one show really speaks to independent workshops and that’s Mechanex-PMM Live.

The UK’s longest-running trade show dedicated solely to the independent aftermarket will once again be held at Sandown Park on Tuesday 12th and Wednesday 13th November. 2024’s show promises to be a lively one, with even more exhibitors than last year signed up for the two day show.

This year we are working with our exhibitors to ensure they bring you the best experience and in a way that is engaging and informative. After all, we know how hard it is to close up the garage for even a few hours and nip over to the show – so we want to make it worth your while.

Mechanex is well known within the independent aftermarket for offering visitors a hands-on experience, bringing them the latest updates and expertise from across the industry and providing an exciting day away from the workshop. We encourage all our exhibitors to leave the corporate look for the NEC – we’re all about having a good chat on the stand with people who know what they’re talking about and making sure you don’t leave empty handed!

PMM LIVE

After the success of last year’s PMM Live, we are bringing it back again this year. You will hear technical talks from the IGA, Bosch, Alldata and Neil Pattemore. At a time in the industry when it feels like everyone has something to say, make sure you attend the show that cuts through the noise and brings you the information you need to hear, told to you in your language.

You asked, we delivered…

At the last instalment of the regional Mechanex-PMM Live tradeshow in Harrogate, many attendees to the seminar stand asked us if we could provide more in-depth diagnostic and ADAS information in our seminars, as this is something that many tradeshows neglect. Well, we asked a newcomer to this year’s show Bosch whether they could help out, following on from their hit series of diagnostic explainers in PMM magazine and they were only too happy to help.

Seminar #1: ADAS

In recognition of the increasing prevalence of ADAS fitment to vehicles coming into independent workshops Bosch will devote a large part of its stand to demonstrations and discussions around this important topic. The latest developments for the established Bosch DAS 3000 platform will be on show, and Bosch experts will be on hand to provide demonstrations and answer questions. Bosch aims to provide an immersive and informative experience for visitors to its stand.

Key Features:

  • Latest development of the unique Bosch Positioning Software, which is now seamlessly integrated into the ESI[tronic] workflow
  • Doppler simulator adapter for computer guided Rear Short Range Radar calibration
  • Rear view camera calibration mat with computer guided positioning
  • Target board for computer guided lidar calibration
  • Specific adapter for computer guided positioning of Toyota/Honda long range radar calibration

Seminar #2: Diagnostics

Another demonstration at Bosch’s stand is ESI[tronic] Evolution Diagnostics software, which offers garage owners direct access to Bosch diagnostics experts’ knowledge. New features for 2024 include a new user interface and start screen, direct access to diagnostic features of ESI[tronic] Evolution, and original documents where original equipment manufacturer information is directly accessible in ESI[tronic] Evolution.

Many vehicle manufacturers now restrict diagnostic access to their electronics and systems, meaning that everyday maintenance tasks, calibrations and even service resets are only possible with a dealer tool. This poses a significant challenge to independent workshops and technicians, but Bosch has the solution: SDA (Secure Diagnostic Access). This provides access to vehicle manufacturer-protected systems, via a one-time registration.

Key Features:

  • One combined hardware and software solution – no need for multiple tools, logins and different payment concepts
  • One single login and registration for all participating manufacturers
  • SDA already included in Bosch ESI[tronic] software
  • SDA covers 20 brands and more will join soon, and all are included at no additional cost.

Bosch will offer both ADAS and ESI[tronic] Evolution demonstrations on both days of the event.
