MOOG Expands Customer Support Programme

Federal-Mogul Motorparts, a division of Federal-Mogul LLC, has announced the development of a customer support programme through its MOOG® brand.

Regular technical and product support updates, along with OE-quality components, enables the brand to offer a complete steering, suspension and wheel end bearings solutions to customers. The first major updates includes two ‘how to’ videos on ball joint installation and wheel alignment and the results of competitor tests. Regular updates will be made throughout the year and will be available online.

“Offering OE-quality products to our customers always needs to be accomplished by providing high-level customer support and service,” said Paul Tersi, Brand Manager Chassis Parts, Federal-Mogul Motorparts, EMEA. “This is why we have invested in a long-term programme that allows technicians to access support for steering, suspension and wheel end bearings, whenever they need it.”

The first installment of MOOG’s programme includes two videos. The first covers a ‘how to’ installation guide and product improvements for ball joints, including insight on how to avoid abrasive wear and corrosion, while the second video informs viewers of tips for wheel alignment. Both videos can be found on the company’s MOOG Parts EMEA YouTube channel. Besides this, a useful syllabus of virtual training modules, which supports career and skills development, is available at www.fmcampus.eu,

The programme also offers comparative information on vehicle components through its own testing. The importance of different mechanical characteristics of vehicle components to durability and driving comfort is explained, followed with a competitive test.

In this installment, the brand explains how its link stabiliser (FD-LS-0090), for popular Ford models, performs better compared to competitors and OE-equivalents. In this example, MOOG’s stud swing design offers 34⁰ of rotation while the OE angle is 29⁰ which is said to offer better resistance to high loads and therefore higher durability.
