Hitachi Power Tools launches 6Ah Lithium-Ion battery

Hitachi Power Tools (UK) Ltd has launched a new high capacity 6.0Ah Lithium-ion battery to a gathering of trade press at the ‘Home of England Rugby’, Twickenham.

The BSL1860 Li-Ion battery, which is compatible with the entire range of 18V cordless tools, is the same size and weight as previous batteries but with greater capacity and working time.

A multiplex protection circuit protects the cells from overload, overcharging and over discharge, ensuring a long lifetime with up to 1,500 charge cycles.

Coinciding with the start of the 6 Nations, the iconic green seats of Twickenham’s grand arena was the ideal back-drop for Hitachi to unveil its 6.0Ah battery, the latest chapter in the brands ‘Green Revolution’.

Hitachi Brand & Production Manager Simon Miller outlined how the new higher capacity batteries gives the trade a ‘viable alternative to mains tools’.

Simon continued: “Designed to stand up to trade professional use, the new 6.0Ah battery gives Hitachi’s tools the capacity to work for two days straight without a charge.”

Following the presentation, Hitachi had organised for attendees to have a tour of the famous stadium, taking in the view from the touchline, the royal box and from the dizzy heights at the top of the stand, as well as the dressing rooms and hospitality suites.

With Hitachi’s three-year warranty also available when registered online within four weeks of purchase, trade professionals can be assured of long service and peace of mind from the 18V tools range.
