Charred Collision Repair Centre devastated in a fire catastrophe turned to Direct Tool Company to douse the flames.
Williams Garage fell victim to a suspected arson attack in the Winchester area. Business owner Peter Whieldon entrusted DTC to put them back on their feet in an emergency recovery project.
Over 40 firefighters were called to the blaze that took hold in the early hours of a cold December morning for a battle that endured over 3 hours before finally subduing to the firemen’s efforts.
Mr Whieldon the bodyshop owner was alerted in the early hours after a neighbouring business owner made him aware of the situation. “It was totally gut wrenching to see the damage. I knew it was beyond repair and the only way the business could survive was to rebuild and start again” explained Mr Whieldon.
Whieldon confided in tooling supplier Direct Tool Company’s Managing Director Tim Wakeford hoping for guidance. “It was a weighty relief when Tim looked me in the eye and promised he would do all he could to get us back up and running as soon as possible,” explained Whieldon. “Their immediate action, commitment and support meant I could rest easy knowing we were in good hands” he added.
The immediate action from DTC meant that within just 2 months the collision repair centre was functioning again. DTC supplied and erected a temporary steel building, followed by an extension to house a compressor, airline system, paint mixing room and spray booth.
DTC also supplied an auto cantilever security gate, various garage equipment, tools and consumables to help heave the business back to its feet. “As a local, responsible and dedicated supplier to the automotive, marine and composite industries, we feel a great deal of responsibility to support any customers in crisis.
