Are you frustrated at the pitfalls surrounding running your own business? Well look no further than the Professional Motor Mechanic podcast!

Running an independent workshop in 2022 is no easy prospect. With costs soaring on even the most basic of provisions (including eggs and bicycle parts), workshop owners are finding themselves in an uneasy balancing act between pay rise demands from your workforce, paying extra (or even struggling to find) for quality parts and negotiating with customers who feel they’re being “ripped off” (“and by the way, would you fit this part I found on eBay for a tenner?”). It can feel a little like you’re being attacked on all sides.

Well, we at PMM thought we would try and help you out. On the second Tuesday of each month you can tune in to the latest episode of the Professional Motor Mechanic podcast. We’ll take you along with us to meet the workshop owners that are going through the same problems as you are. We’ll talk to the organisations that are set up to help independent garages thrive. Each month we delve into the issues we know are affecting your business.

How do we know? Because you tell us! We are in and out of garages each week, listening to the concerns you have for the future of the industry and even the future of your own workshop.

Not only will we take you along to the garages, but you’ll get to come with us behind the scenes at racetracks such as SantaPod Raceway and Brands Hatch. You’ll be at the launch of the latest products entering the workshop and at all the biggest events and exhibitions. Thanks to the PMM podcast, you’ll know what’s coming to factors even before they do.

So listen up!

Although we only launched the podcast a few months ago, it is already ranking within the top 1% of all podcasts, which means that many of you are already listening. So far, some of the topics covered include the price of parts, recruitment issues and the challenges surrounding pricing your jobs. As you can see, we are tackling real issues with complex answers, not just toeing the corporate line!

We know you care about your industry and we do too. That’s why it’s so important to keep informed on the big issues affecting your business. So why not pop us on your phone in the break room, or on the bluetooth speaker on the workshop floor – it’s a half hour that we promise will educate and entertain you and, hopefully, improve your business.
