Door open warning message displayed in instrument panel, even though all doors are closed – Kia Sportage
FAULT:
A 2016 Kia Sportage in the garage has a door open warning message displayed in the instrument panel, even though all doors are closed. Have you any ideas?
FIX:
We have recently seen this fault on this model, and it is due to water ingress into the rear door lock mechanism wiring harness multi-plug, causing corrosion. Remove the rear door inner panel. Check the rear door lock mechanism wiring harness multi-plug for corrosion. If necessary, replace the rear door lock mechanism. Using a repair kit, fit a water drain channel to the door window glass rear guide rail. This modification will prevent the problem from reoccurring. Repeat procedure for the opposite side.
