Yokohama’s Ultimate Road-Legal, Competition Tyre

Making its UK debut at Autosport International, Yokohama has introduced a brand new, road-legal competition tyre to its range of high performance motorsport tyres

Providing drivers with the ultimate sport performance, the ADVAN A052 comes in 19 sizes ranging from 16 to 18 inches. As the successor to Yokohama’s popular ADVAN A048, the new tyre provides unprecedented levels of grip in both wet and dry conditions. The tyre’s tread design has been developed from Yokohama’s established tarmac rally tyre range while the company’s design and manufacturing standards have been applied to ensure it also delivers a favourable environmental performance, meeting Europe’s rigorous rolling resistance and tyre noise regulations.

“The new ADVAN A052 offers race competitors, track day enthusiasts and those with modified or tuned cars a whole new level of performance,” comments Mark Evans, head of motorsport for Yokohama HPT. “Quite simply, the extreme levels of grip offered in both wet and dry conditions is sure to help everyone looking to improve their performance or reduce their lap times.”

In order to provide the high levels of performance and grip, the Yokohama ADVAN A052 features an asymmetric, high rigidity tread pattern and an all new ‘sport compound’. Not only has the tyre passed the necessary tests and carries the relevant markings to ensure it is road legal, but it is already included in MSA ‘Blue Book’ tyre list 1B for 2017.

The new tyre is the latest addition to Yokohama’s highly regarded range of competition tyres which are used by competitors in a wide range of motorsport applications including circuit racing, rally and rallycross. Its tyres are used by all competitors in the FIA World Touring Car Championship, the All-Japan Formula 3 Championship, the Japanese SUPER FORMULA Championship and more than 26 motorsport championships in the UK.
