TRICO and A1 have announced they have raised funds for charity, Speed Of Sight, during its summer pledge.
The wiper blade manufacturer pledged to donate £1 from every sale through its distributor, A1 Motor Stores, to the charity that hosts driving days for disabled people, and in total raised £6,576.
The charity is run by blind race car driver and multiple World Record holder, Mike Newman and his co-founder, John Galloway.
TRICO has been the headline sponsor of Speed Of Sight, which hosts driving experiences for children and adults with disabilities, since 2020. Along with the sponsorship money it has donated, staff have also raised more than £1,000 for the charity in January 2021 by running 5km every single day of that month.
TRICO’s Group Brand & Marketing Manager (Europe), Sam Robinson, said: “Although our aim was obviously to create donations for Speed Of Sight, we’re thrilled with how this promotion has performed, it was a success for all. It’s certainly something we’re going to repeat in the future because the feedback from customers was so positive and it raised the profile of Speed Of Sight even more, so we’re looking into how we can make it even bigger and better!”
CEO of Speed Of Sight, Mike Newman, added: “We’re extremely humbled that TRICO created an entire campaign around us and over the moon with the money it raised! We know that TRICO has got an incredible reputation in the industry, so to be affiliated with the brand is fantastic.
“I’d like to thank every single person who was involved in this promotion and everyone who bought a pair of TRICO wiper blades from A1 Motor Stores and for the money donated to us, it really does mean the world to us and the money will go directly to hosting track days to give disabled people the chance to experience driving!”
