MAHLE has been awarded the 2016 “RetroClassicsCultur” award by Professor Pfeiffer, head of the 20 member jury of Retro Classics, for special services to the preservation of the historical automotive cultural heritage.
Many engine parts in its ‘Classics Line’ were developed and jointly produced with the manufacturers for original equipment purposes. MAHLE have the original design drawings, some of which date back to the 1950’s, that the company base the current specifications on, ensuring the same level of quality and expertise the components were produced to originally.
Its ‘Classics Line’ has expanded recently to include even more components for vintage, neo classic and modern classic cars. The company has recently manufactured pistons for the Porsche 917, the most successful sports car of the 1970’s, made famous by the film ‘Le Mans’ featuring Steve McQueen.
Managing Director of MAHLE Aftermarket GmbH and Member of the Management Committee, Olaf Henning expressed his happiness at receiving this accolade: “We are delighted to receive the RetroClassicsCultur award. In particular, it recognises our endeavours to preserve the historical automotive cultural heritage using modern production techniques.”
