Chevron is pleased to announce Freddie Hunt, professional racing driver and son of 1976 Formula 1 world champion James Hunt, as Havoline’s brand ambassador, supporting the launch of the new Havoline range across Europe in 2016.
The announcement renews the relationship with the Hunt family that began 40 years ago. Texaco, now part of the Chevron Corporation, was a key sponsor of James in his title-winning season. This new relationship between Freddie and Havoline unifies the next generations of both the Hunt family and Havoline’s advanced products.
With 2016 the anniversary of James Hunt’s championship, Freddie’s first duty as ambassador was to welcome the lucky winners of a recent Havoline promotion to Silverstone Classic. With VIP tickets and exclusive access to the James Hunt display, the winners enjoyed the racing action and static displays at Silverstone’s record-breaking event.
Commenting on Freddie’s new role, James Welchman, marketing manager EMEA, Chevron Lubricants said: “We’re proud to be working with Freddie, renewing the historic relationship between the company and his father. Heritage is important to our brand, but so is using the latest oil technology. Our new products coming to market this year perfectly demonstrate this.”
Freddie Hunt himself was excited with the news: “It’s important for me to work with a company that believed in my father, and helped him succeed. As a racing driver, you need to rely on the team around you, and Havoline has an excellent track record in developing the best oils.”
