Easy2Recruit focuses on master techs in 2024

Easy2Recruit has announced it’s heading into 2024 optimistic after a hectic first six months in business.

Easy2Recruit launched in June 2023 at Automechanika Birmingham, going on to attend other industry events including Mechanex Sandown Park, Automotive Management LIVE and the Smart Transport National Conference. The business also joined the National Body Repair Association (NBRA) as a specialist supplier member.

Easy2Recruit aims to help automotive businesses struggling to recruit skilled staff by accessing technicians working abroad, thanks to partnerships with overseas recruitment specialists.

Easy2Recruit is working with a number of garages, aiming to help them obtain their sponsor licences and place technicians in the first quarter of this year. The government announced changes to the Skilled Worker visa programme in December which will see the minimum salary sponsors need to pay workers rise by 48%, from £26,200 to £38,700 from April.

The change came after the government came under renewed political pressure to reduce net migration, despite many areas of the economy being negatively affected by a lack of workers.

Ambi Singh, CEO of Easy2Recruit, said: “We can help business access exceptionally talented and committed overseas technicians and there’s a huge need for this in the automotive sector. The changes announced to minimum salaries in December mean our focus will be moving towards recruiting specialist master technicians and working more with larger businesses with locations in parts of the UK where cost-of-living and salaries tend to be higher.

“This is fine for our business but it’s definitely not helping the huge numbers of garages struggling to fill their technician vacancies.”
