DVSA issues calibration reminder

The DVSA has reminded garages that equipment needs to be calibrated by 31 October, after the agency relaxed the rules surrounding this.

This was originally introduced to help garages while lots of calibration engineers were furloughed, and it was difficult to book a calibration.

Most engineers are now said to be back at work – and the provisions of the special notice issued on 8 July 2020 will no longer apply. As such, it’s vital that all relevant equipment has been calibrated by 31 October 2020.

DVSA’s vehicle examiners will be checking equipment has been calibrated. Testing on out of calibration equipment may result in testing being suspended until the equipment is re-calibrated, so the DVSA has urged garages to get this done now.
