Comline Auto Parts has announced that distributors and workshops will be able to benefit from its Comline Augmented Reality (C.A.R) 3D tool.
To complement Comline’s ambition of increasing its steering & suspension range by a third during 2021, the British brand has introduced the C.A.R platform to assist customers in locating the correct Comline part.
Currently being rolled out for customer testing, the tool, which allows an at-your-fingertip comparison between the outgoing part and the Comline equivalent, has been designed to save technicians time and money.
In a series of video clips, Comline’s Managing Director, Ishan Kamdar, demonstrates how the features of the digital platform can work in the real-world.
In these videos, Ishan picks up the story by demonstrating a comparison of a control arm for a Mercedes Benz Vito (CCA1414L) and proceeds to show the full potential of C.A.R. He said: “Users can overlap the Comline part against the original, to exact scale, to check for any unusual ball joints or fittings. They can also click on ‘hotspots’, which will provide technical information, such as any peculiarities with that specific part number, to better understand the part.”
Game-Changing Potential
Comline General Manager – Marketing & Communications, Leigh Davies, has further echoed Ishan’s views and is confident C.A.R will prove to be a real asset to its distributors that sell Comline steering & suspension parts and to those technicians fitting the product daily.
He said: “Our move into augmented reality is an exciting step-forward for the Comline brand and something that will no doubt draw interest to our steering & suspension. However, the real motivation behind this is to deliver something that will truly benefit our customers, and I firmly believe C.A.R can become a real asset to both parts distributors and garage businesses alike – it’s a technology with game-changing potential.”
Market Feedback
With the C.A.R technology platform in place, Comline is looking to the market for direct feedback on the platform. Quoting Ishan direct from his video, he said: “We’d love to get your market feedback on Comline Augmented Reality!”
Comline has set-up a dedicated email where customers can share their thoughts and opinions regarding C.A.R, while there is also a dedicated section on its website.
