Proving a real hit since displaying its wares at last year’s MECHANEX trade shows, ALLDATA boasts a growing database of vehicle repair information, along with numerous product features.
The rapid growth of parent company ALLDATA Europe has been dramatic. In just two years, the Cologne-based organisation has expanded its database to more than 10 million unedited manufacturers’ service and repair documents.
Enhancements to the product will shortly include integration with major parts catalogues and a uniform navigation structure, making it fast and easy to locate information on all makes and models. ALLDATA is also working to quickly add more brands.
“Cars are too complex today to be guessing at how to repair them,” says Michael Krampe, CEO of ALLDATA Europe.
“Vehicle-specific information is essential for understanding the intricacies of each make and model. More than 86,000 workshops in North America rely on ALLDATA every single day, and now European garages have the same opportunity.”
ALLDATA’s impact in the UK market has been equally as swift, with the system available as a package extra for purchasers of the well-regarded Autologic diagnostic range.
Kevin Clausner is a Business Development Consultant for ALLDATA in the UK and was previously a Director at Autodata, he believes that the volume of repair data required to service modern vehicles has meant that technicians now need to have access to more than one information source.
He says: “ALLDATA is unique in that it provides original OE repair information; something our industry has campaigned for access to over many years. With over 10 million searchable documents we believe it’s the most comprehensive on-line source of OE information available. For instance, it hasn’t only got a few of the popular wiring diagrams for any one VM – it’s got virtually all of them. That type of information is a must for independents focusing on diagnosing electrical faults.
“I believe garages will see this as a complimentary system to other data providers and garage owners will subscribe to it for the same reasons they brought into more than one piece of diagnostic equipment: to fix more cars, faster, and make more profit.”
