British Manufacturer CGON has expanded its installer network to over 400 MOT centres across the UK. PMM uncovers the full story.
With over 100,000 cars per month failing their MOT on emissions alone, CGON is providing training in MOT centres across the UK to install its flagship product, the ezero1, which can reduce emissions by up to 80% when measured on an MOT test using VOSA standards.
CGON’s range of fuel enhancement products also offers a cost saving to the user, with real-world car drivers reporting up to 20% fuel saving, and by keeping DPFs clean, users are saved the cost of replacements. Designed, produced and manufactured in the UK, the 100% recyclable ezero1 unit is fitted within the engine bay and can be used on any fossil fuel engine, from petrol to diesel to LPG.
The ezero1 has been independently tested on the road by an expert in the use of Portable Emissions Measurements Systems (PEMS), Emissions Analytics. For the urban drive cycle, PEMS testing has shown reductions of 91.3% in PN (Particulate Number, or soot) plus a 47.9% reduction in NOx and a 50.6% reduction in NO2.
CGON’s fuel enhancement products don’t store any hydrogen on-board at all but create small amounts on demand. The system works by introducing small amounts of very pure, very powerful hydrogen directly into the inlet chamber where it combines with the fuel-air mixture. The resulting hydrogen- fuel-air mix – which has a cooler burn that’s faster than a conventional mix – creates a more complete combustion cycle, meaning most of the fuel is burned.
The result is that almost all waste gases are eliminated, drastically reducing harmful emissions. And because CGON’s technology increases engine efficiency, less fuel is used. Additionally, in a diesel engine, the much cleaner emissions also put less stress on the particulate filter, resulting in reduced maintenance and time off the road – an additional cost saving to the user.
The ezero1 can be fitted to any internal combustion car in approximately one hour. The box costs £459 including VAT and fitting. The CGON cells have a 24-month guarantee. The ezero box is topped up every 6,000 miles with CGON’s patented electrolyte solution (a 360ml pouch of electrolyte costs £8.40).
Simon Johnson, Managing Director of CGON, said, “After a very productive year, we are pleased to say that our UK installer network of over 400 locations is open for business. We have worked hard to put a dependable infrastructure in place to offer CGON fuel enhancement technology to customers across the UK, and beyond, who want to reduce emissions in their vehicle while making a saving on fuel and maintenance.
“We’ve had a very enthusiastic response from MOT centres, who say our fuel enhancement systems are what they’ve been waiting for, as a practical and affordable solution for the 100,000 motorists whose cars fail their MOT every month on emissions alone, with the added benefit of reducing the number of trips to the fuel pump.
“We are welcoming multiple installers to our network every day, and we are glad to see that their customers are as excited about the verified results of installing our products as we are.”
