Bosch offers hybrid and EV training

Bosch has revealed it will be offering hybrid and electric vehicle training for all levels at its headquarters in Denham.

The shortage of electric vehicle trained staff in the independent aftermarket has been well documented and whilst this may seem a challenge to many aftermarket workshop businesses, there is a significant opportunity for the independent sector, with a relatively small investment required to gain the relevant qualifications in order to cater for these vehicles.

Bosch offers a comprehensive solution to this, with a complete suite of hybrid and electric vehicle training courses available to suit all needs and requirements, ranging from essential EV knowledge and awareness, right up to fully-qualified ‘expert’ technician at Level 4 (IMI Accredited). What’s more, for added convenience, much of this training can be attended online, with the courses adopting Bosch’s virtual classroom and blended learning delivery methods.

For those staff wishing to gain an overview of electric and hybrid vehicles, covering the technology involved and safety precautions, the new online virtual classroom module HEV awareness is ideal. With the course being suitable for all staff members within the business, including front of house, drivers, valeters and technicians alike, it’s the perfect starting point for workshop owners and employees wishing to begin their journey into the realms of electric vehicles.

Technicians looking to gain a recognised qualification can enrol onto the combined Levels 2 & 3 IMI accredited course, which runs over two days online as a virtual classroom, with an additional face-to-face assessment taking place later at one of Bosch’s dedicated training centres.

Those technicians looking to become fully-fledged experts in EV will be pleased to know that Bosch has recently launched a brand new Level 4 training course in EV Systems technology. This qualification contains the knowledge and skills required to carry out diagnosis and repairs on live high voltage vehicle electrical components and associated systems, whilst working safely. It is the highest level of qualification currently available.

Courses available are as follows:

Hybrid and Electric Vehicle
Awareness (Level 1)

Online, Virtual Classroom – 4 hours

Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Systems
(IMI Levels 2 & 3 Combined)

Blended Learning or Face-to-Face –3 days
