What is claimed to be the first ever battery testing app has been launched by Exide Technologies, which will make it easier for workshops to test and replace batteries.
It lets workshops analyse battery test results and give customers battery replacement options within five minutes. The app is free for workshops and is designed for smartphones, but it works on any device with a web browser. The device performs advanced analysis on the battery, and tests produce a QR code. The web app can scan this code to import the test results.
These results cover cranking health, voltage, temperature, reserve health capacity and recommendations for further battery treatment such as recharge. The app has licence plate scan functionality, providing a quick and error-free way of ensuring the correct replacement battery is selected. Driving profile analysis is also available.
