Petro-Canada Lubricants Inc (PCLI) has launched its SUPREME Synthetic 0W-16 motor oil, which meets the needs of newer engines to support improved fuel economy and reduce carbon emissions.
Providing enhanced protection to support a long engine life, SUPREME Synthetic 0W-16 motor oil also helps prevent harmful damage caused by engine knocking from Low Speed Pre-Ignition (LSPI) events in gasoline direct- injection engines, including those with turbochargers. A concerning noise for vehicle owners, engine knocking can be an indication of an abnormal combustion event, where the fuel-air mixture ignites at the wrong time in the cycle, leading to accelerated engine wear or even complete engine failure. Using a lubricant with additives is the best defence against this phenomenon.
