LUKOIL launches engine oil for the new all-alluminium engine from Mercedes Benz.

Mercedes-Benz has launched a brand new 2.0 litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine. It has been designed to meet the future global emissions standards such as Real Driving Emissions (RDE) and the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP). First premiered in the new E-Class E220 d model back in spring 2016, this new OM 654 engine will gradually take over the entire Mercedes-Benz range, which will see a 14 brake-horsepower performance boost and around 13% lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

This newest generation diesel engine has been described as ‘future proof’ by Mercedes-Benz. It requires a special type of lubricant to meet the new MB229.71 specification. LUKOIL has launched the ‘Genesis Special MC 0W-20’ product which is a fully synthetic multigrade engine oil especially developed for the new all-aluminium engine from Mercedes-Benz.

Its developed with high-quality synthetic base oils and the latest additive technology, which keeps the engine clean, reduces friction and guarantees maximum engine lifetime. It is especially developed for engines where low viscosity, high fuel economy and after treatment systems compatible engine oils are required.

To add to the benefits, with it being a low friction oil, it minimises the wear through rapid oil circulation, especially in the warm-up phase of the engine where it allows maximum loads and provides exceptionally high safety reserves.

LUKOIL have specifically developed this grade for this new technology engine and following all of the global emission standards, it is one of only two engine oils to be launched with the MB229.71 specification full approval from Mercedes-Benz.
