
A survey from FixMyCar has highlighted the challenges drivers face when booking garages, with poor service reportedly the biggest deal-breaker.
The survey of 2,000 drivers revealed 64% said they would not return to a garage if unhappy with the work. It further highlighted cost, transparency, and trust as other major concerns. Over half (56%) were discouraged by high prices, 49% would not return after experiencing poor customer service and 47% said transparent work and pricing is most important to them. More than a quarter (28%) of drivers said they struggle to find a garage they can fully trust.
To build greater transparency and trust in auto repair, FixMyCar has introduced the FixRated network for drivers. This network aims to provide drivers with confidence in their garage bookings as all garages are vetted to ensure they meet high standards of service and can meet more specialist needs such as warranty work.

The programme meets the needs of both businesses and consumers for servicing and repairs. Every FixRated garage is assessed for quality and reliability and must adhere to a Code of Conduct. To qualify for FixRated membership, garages have undergone site assessments, held a minimum rating of four stars on Trustpilot or Google, and are registered with an official industry body.
