Shaftec has promoted Chris Journet to the newly created role of UK Sales Manager. This news forms part of the company’s 2015 strategic business development plan and strengthens Shaftec’s position as a leading aftermarket supplier of remanufactured and new, transmission, braking and steering parts for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles.
Chris has been part of the management team at Shaftec since January 2013, when he joined the company as Area Sales Manager for the South East. He has a broad and in-depth understanding of the industry having worked in positions of increasing responsibility for Peugeot Main dealers for 20 years before joining the Shaftec team.
“These are exciting times,” said Chris. “The automotive industry has changed beyond recognition in the past ten years. Price transparency has driven competition and marked advances in technology have made vehicles more complex, increasing the demand on the manufacturer to bring aftermarket references to market more quickly.
“But quality products from respected names will always be in demand. And the customer is always King. Shaftec has invested heavily in recent years: a move to bigger, more efficient premises has allowed us to increase our manufacturing capabilities and streamline our distribution. It’s certainly time for the Shaftec brand to shine and I look forward to working alongside the rest of the team and our customer base to make that happen.”
Sales and Marketing Director, Tom Curtis, commented: “I’m certain that Chris is the right person to lead the sales team as we continue to grow. His experience and personable attitude combined with a reliable and flexible approach to work has made him a popular hit with employees and customers alike.
“We all have a part to play to secure Shaftec’s continued success, and with a great team in place I’m excited about the challenges ahead.”
Reporting to Tom Curtis and based at the company’s Headquarters in Birmingham, Chris will head up Shaftec’s UK team of five area sales managers, assuming responsibility for the key accounts.
