The Original Equipment Suppliers Aftermarket Association (OESAA) has selected Sid Parr, of Parr Automotive in Market Harborough, as winner of a five-Supercar thrill Virgin experience after participating in a recent competition held at Automechanika.
Sid won his exclusive prize, donated by ZF Group, after challenging non-OE parts manufacturers present at the exhibition to answer a variety of questions set by OESAA.
Designed to highlight the pitfalls of ‘matching quality’ alternatives, questions such as, “How can you verify your products perform to OEM standard?” gave participants a clear insight into the dramatic differences between OE and non-OE components.
“The OESAA stand was great, as they did loads of presentations highlighting the differences between white box and OE parts. I’ve been in the motor trade since leaving school and in the past 20 years have seen non-OE manufacturers degrading the quality of parts, as they are sourced from cheaper suppliers,” said Sid.
“As times goes by, the quality gap between non-OE and OE is becoming greater, and selling OE parts to my customers becomes easier and easier.”
“Our Automechanika competition certainly helped to drive home the message that ‘matching quality’ alternatives simply aren’t worth the reputational risk”, said OESAA Chairman Nigel Morgan.
