BEN, the automotive industry’s dedicated charity, has recently announced the launch of its latest campaign for the ‘Give a Scrap’ scheme. The initiative is an opportunity to dispose of any unwanted or unusable vehicles and then donate the residual value to BEN. This is particularly relevant to all Retailers, MOT Stations, Repairers and Service Centres where customers often request disposal of these vehicles on their behalf. ‘Give a Scrap’ has been introduced to help the outlet and help BEN in one simple process. Working together in partnership with ‘Remove My Car’, the BEN scheme offers an established and hassle free solution for MOT failures and vehicles just too expensive to repair.
On average a recycled vehicle fetches £125 which (for example) would enable BEN to purchase a wheelchair for a person in need – swap old wheels for new and give back some independence to an industry colleague needing their care and support.
The ‘Give a Scrap’ scheme provides:
– A quick, easy and free vehicle disposal network;
– Instant online valuations & unlimited auction access;
– Certificates of Destruction for all E.L.V’s;
– Free nationwide collection within 48 ‘working’ hours;
– An environmentally friendly option for any unwanted vehicles.
‘We are delighted to be working with BEN on the Give a Scrap scheme.’ said Steve Queen, Managing Director of Remove a Car, who went on to say: ‘I don’t mind admitting I knew little about BEN and the amazing work they do for our industry colleagues until now. But if everyone gets behind this initiative we can raise overall awareness of BEN and exploit this great fundraising opportunity to the benefit of our friends and colleagues during hard times.’
Nigel Williams, BEN’s Commercial Development Manager says: ‘We are excited by the potential of ‘Give a Scrap’. Our industry recycles thousands of cars each year and if every UK outlet utilised this scheme to donate a minimum of one vehicle a year it would make a significant contribution to the number of people we can help.’
