Technicians can sign-up to three new Schaeffler REPXPERT training courses.
Held at Schaeffler’s Birmingham training academy, the hands-on events are available free of charge to REPXPERT users across the UK; however, members that sign-up to the 2CT Double Clutch course will be charged a small fee to cover the IMI assessment, which includes a qualification and certificate.
The first session will take place on Tuesday 24th April and will be presented by the renowned REPXPERT Technical Trainer, Alistair Mason. Focusing on clutch technology, Alistair will share his extensive clutch system knowledge by illustrating the importance of design, construction, operation, testing and diagnosis of all components.
The session will then be handed over to the attendees, who will be tasked with installing a self-adjusting clutch and testing a Dual Mass Flywheel (DMF).
For those that would prefer to try an alternative training session, then the highly-popular INA and FAG course will take place on Wednesday 30th May – again, at the Birmingham training facility.
Presented by another well-known REPXPERT, Tim Adams, he will guide attendees through a comprehensive curriculum, focusing on timing systems, front end auxiliary drive systems (FEAD) and wheel bearings.
After a mixture of interactive theory and discussion about how the various systems operate, how technology has evolved and, consequently, how technicians can adapt to the latest developments, the attendees will be able to demonstrate what they’ve learned throughout the course by taking part in various practical scenarios that will prepare them for the real thing back at their workshop.
On Tuesday 19th June, the ever-popular IMI-approved LuK 2CT Double Clutch training course will take place – and those interested are urged to sign-up quickly to avoid disappointment.
Alistair Mason will return to deliver the training, which will include a summary of double clutch transmissions, as well as theory on the operation, components, installation and tooling for the VW DSG, Renault DC4/Ford DPS6 and Fiat/Alfa Romeo DDCT 6.
At the conclusion of Alistair’s presentation, which will culminate in a valuable segment about double clutch diagnosis, attendees will be assessed while changing a clutch and set-up of each of the vehicles studied, including a flywheel reset.
The cost of the qualification is £36, which can be invoiced through the technician’s Schaeffler supplier. All they have to do is confirm the supplier when registering at www.repxpert.co.uk/learn.
