KYB UK is sponsoring a Mazda MX5, driven by 16-year-old Jake Bailey who is one of the youngest drivers in the UK.
After previous success in Autograss, Jake is chasing his ambitions by racing in the BRSCC Mazda MX5 Series this year, driving a 1.6 Mazda MX5.
The BRSCC Mazda MX-5 Championship is the perfect starting point for those coming into the sport for the first time. With tightly controlled regulations and few modifications allowed, the Mazda MX-5 Mk1 is a great entry route into club motorsport.
After the first two races of the season, Jake has had a promising start in his number 14 car and has learnt a lot so far. He is currently in 19th position out of 40 drivers. The next race meeting is on Anglesey 7th-8th May. Coverage of the races is broadcast on Motors TV (Sky 447 and Virgin 545).
General Manager for KYB UK, Andy Marpole, comments “I decided to sponsor Jake this year because he’s a really young and enthusiastic driver and I thought it would be great to give him some support as he starts his motor racing career.
“The Mazda MX5 is a great car and I think Jake can really improve his skills this year competing against older and more experienced drivers”.
