IGA offers savings on training courses

The Independent Garage Association (IGA) has announced it’s offering a saving of up to 50% for all its members across selected training courses.

The offer has been designed to provide tangible benefits that supports the future success of the independent garage sector and the continued development of its workforce.

The IGA has also announced it is providing the funding to offer the subsidised training discounts, which will significantly reduce the costs of IGA members upskilling their staff.

This further underlines the IGA’s continued commitment to help garage owners enhance their business by developing the skills and knowledge of their teams.

Stuart James, Chief Executive of the IGA, said: “The IGA continues to provide its members with genuine help and support that adds real value to independent garage businesses and to their ability to remain competitive in today’s fast changing environment.

“This is another example of the support we have available which offers a measurable benefit to IGA member garages. By subsidising training across these essential disciplines, we’re helping independent garages build the skills they need to meet these challenges with confidence and in a cost-effective way.

“Providing practical, tangible member benefits like this is a key part of our role as the representative voice of the independent garage sector.”

The subsidised training courses part of the funding offer from the IGA include:

  • Level 2 Award in MOT Tester Training for class 4 and 7 vehicles
  • Level 2 Award in MOT Tester Training for Motorcycles (class 1 and 2 vehicles)
  • The Level 3 Award in MOT Centre Management
  • IMI Level 3 Award in Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Repair
  • IMI ADAS AOM230

The courses included in the IGA’s offer not only have the potential to open up new revenue streams for garages through offering additional services to motorists but also provide garage staff with development opportunities and career progression.

Providing opportunities to develop garage staff is critical to ensuring businesses are able to keep their best employees and the sector holds on to its best talent.

One of the IGA’s wider offers to its members is its dedicated helpline service that provides members with help and support on booking the appropriate training course and finding available dates. You can contact the IGAs member helpline on 01788 225 908. You can also visit the IGA website for more information around the subsidised training offer.
