Gates and Banner Batteries were rewarded for a successful 2015 with prestigious awards at the IAAF’s Annual Awards ceremony.
Gates was awarded Car Parts Supplier of Excellence Award for 2015, while Banner collected the CV the Supplier of Excellence crown.
Held at the ICC in Birmingham in December, more than 30 aftermarket companies contested the awards that this year received a record number of nominations.
Voted by UK aftermarket players, the awards recognise the quality of not just the product supplied, but the degree of support provided by the supplier.
Pierre Soultie, Gates Vice President Automotive Aftermarket Sales and Marketing EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and Darren Spooner, Gates UK Regional Manager received the award from BBC TV’s John Inverdale and IAAF Chief Executive Wendy Williamson.
Darren Spooner said: “It is always our aim to give our distributors a high level of customer support.
“In 2015 this has been demonstrated by the number of UK Technical Training events held in association with Motor Factors and the introduction of TechPartner, our market innovation just introduced for repairers.”
Pierre Soultie added: “We have a very important partner in the UK, which has contributed to our success.
“FPS provides our customers with the widest, most up to date stock profile, best availability, service and support to ensure sales opportunities are maximized.”
Banner Batteries’ Country Manager, Lee Quinney said: “The IAAF Awards are arguably one of the most prestigious in the industry and we are understandably delighted to have come out on top within the CV Supplier of Excellence category.
“Over the last eight months the whole team at Banner Batteries has worked tirelessly to drive forward the company’s ambitious development strategy and the award serves to recognise the hard work, endeavour and enthusiasm that they have shown.
“I would like to thank the IAAF distributors that took time to nominate Banner Batteries and they can rest assured that the company has its sights set firmly on building on the success it has achieved this year into 2016 and beyond,” he added.
This year was the first in the IAAF’s history where members could have a direct influence on the awards by being able to vote via the Federation’s re-vamped website.
