Delphi supports veterans in latest campaign

Delphi has announced it will giveaway six IMI electric and hybrid vehicle technician qualifications to deserving ex-military and serving personnel.

It comes as figures show homelessness among military veterans in England has risen by 14% in the last year. Recognising the dedication and sacrifices made by those who have served, the initiative from Delphi Academy aims to equip the most-deserving veterans with in-demand skills.

Luke Garratt, UK Technical Services Manager at Delphi, said: “As a proud veteran who served 10 years in the Royal Air Force, I’ve experienced firsthand the challenges of transitioning from military to civilian life. Through this campaign, we’re offering a lifeline to a promising future in the automotive industry. With the world’s focus shifting towards electric, these skills will open the doors to an exciting new career.”

The giveaway is open to both ex-military and serving personnel, as well as nominees who can apply on behalf of deserving candidates. The application requires a brief explanation detailing why this opportunity would be transformative.

Six of the worthiest entries will be selected on April 30th, 2024 to undertake their IMI electric and hybrid vehicle technician training up to level three at Delphi’s advanced training centre in Warwick.

Luke continued: “We’re looking for motivated individuals ready to embrace new challenges and embark on a journey towards career fulfilment. This initiative is our way of giving back and expressing our gratitude for their selfless service.”

To apply or nominate a deserving veteran, email the entrant’s details along with an explanation of why this opportunity would be transformative to training.uk@phinia.com.
