Xenon Counterfeiting will be featured on BBC’s Fake Britain this week.
The BBC’s Fake Britain programme will, this coming week – on Wednesday September 7th at 09.15 – be highlighting the issue of the increasing availability on the market of counterfeit automotive lighting products and HID Xenon headlamps in particular.
The upcoming show will tackle the problem as a major feature looking, in-depth, at the dangers of counterfeit Xenon bulbs and the steps being taken to combat the problem.
“The spread of counterfeit auto parts is a problem that has been growing, not just in the UK, but globally” explains Lumileds’ Richard Armstrong, “We were delighted to be able to cooperate with both the BBC and the authorities, helping to expose those trying to cash in on fake Philips products – in order to help bring the particular issue of fake HID Xenon bulbs to the attention of the consumer. Initially, the programme will be aired in the UK, but ultimately it will reach a much wider audience, as the show will also be broadcast on BBC World Service as well as being available online.”
