BEN, the automotive industry charity, is delighted to announce the appointment of new Welfare Officer, Des Gale, who’s assigned to Scotland and Northern Ireland areas and will be based in West Fife.
Des is responsible for clients living in Scotland and Northern Ireland. His day-to-day responsibilities are to carry out comprehensive assessments of individual’s need and provide appropriate and professional information, advice, guidance and support. Working with individuals and families, he will make sure that people get access to the services they need to make lasting positive change in their lives.
He brings a wealth of experience, over 20 years, having previously worked as a Welfare Worker with the Army and as a Police Welfare Officer. In addition to this he has also worked with a local authority Emergency Social Work Team in Scotland. His main areas of interest are working with people who have experienced trauma, are living with mental health issues and providing support in relation to stress management.
Commenting on his new role, Des said: “I’m delighted to have accepted this new challenge and role at BEN. I’m looking forward to working with BEN’s Welfare Team and being involved in the new strategies that BEN will be implementing in the near future.
