But don’t take our word for it…

Karl Booth, Head of Sales & Marketing, Opus IVS

“People have been crying out for regional shows, I think. National shows are good, international shows are good as well, I attend those. But the regional shows that you guys provide via the PMM Live section are really needed within our industry for people to get together within an area and kind of bring back that social aspect since the whole COVID period.”

“So as a company, we’ve attended shows that you guys have put on before up in the Northern region. And I do feel sorry for the guys that live up there, more to the point that any show that they have to do at the moment, they have to kind of come south for. So I think doing a regionalised show for them in their area so they can come and see the latest innovations and network with some of the leading people in the industry is a great idea and it’s something that we will be fully backing as well.”

Simon Frost, Sales Director, Alldata UK

“The great thing for me about trade shows like MECHANEX is that you meet an audience who are ready to listen, looking for something new. And it’s just a very nice atmosphere. Sometimes when you roll up to a garage, they’re busy, they’ve got a lot on and they don’t know you’re coming quite often. And so sometimes it’s difficult to get the optimum conditions for a conversation. Whereas a trade show completely turns that on its head. They’ve come ready to look for a new supplier, ready to look for new ideas. And because of that, the conversations that you have are much more in depth and really productive. So I’m a real fan of trade shows and as long as they exist, I’ll be pushing to take part”

Natasha Rawal, Owner, A2B Components

“I was very lucky to be able to sell at the show…I was quite close to the stage where you did all the seminars. So I could overhear that, which was really knowledgeable. Even that part of it, being an exhibitor, you can pop on and off, have a listen, meet other people as well, all the other exhibitors. All the customers I met, their feedback was great.”

Mike Schlup, Managing Director, Kalimex

“We’ve been a few times now over the years and yeah, we do find it very good. It’s a great way for us to connect with mechanics directly, which we don’t often have the opportunity to do with our distribution model in the UK. So we do enjoy it. And we’ve had some busy shows in the past. So yeah we’re happy.”

“So at the beginning it was interesting, particularly with our JLM range, the diesel and DPF cleaning products. A few years ago, we really noticed a lack of awareness of how professional mechanics could deal with DPF issues and particularly keep that business in house rather than just go, ‘not doing this’ and sending it away. But at the most recent Mechanex last year at Sandown, we really noticed a big increase in awareness of these issues and how to deal with it and therefore a greater understanding and connection with the solutions that we were offering.”
