Apec expand on what they offer

Brakes were where it all began for Apec, and though the brand had branched out in recent years to other areas of the vehicle, braking remains what it’s best known for in the UK. Here, they expand on what they offer in each of the braking areas.

Brake pads

Apec brake pads sit at the heart of the company’s braking range, combining advanced friction materials with thorough, real-world testing. The Stop Ready Coating that is applied to the pads aims to dramatically reduce bedding-in time while enhancing stopping power. Every pad is built to meet and, according to Apec themselves, often exceed OE quality. With coverage across 99 per cent of the UK car parc, they’ve become a reliable choice for technicians.

More than 18 million Apec pads are produced each year, all engineered as direct OE replacements and developed to surpass R90 standards for consistency and longevity. Manufactured in Europe, the range is backed by a no quibble 3-year/36,000-mile guarantee, giving workshops long-term peace of mind at a competitive price point.

The brake pads also benefit from a premium High-Pressure Treatment (HPT) scorching process. By applying 10,000 Nm of pressure at 650ºC, this treatment helps prevent surface crystallisation, improves initial bite and further reduces bedding-in time – all while supporting long-lasting performance.

Brake discs

To complement the pad range, Apec brake discs are engineered with the same focus on precision, durability and OE-level performance. When paired with the pads, they deliver a balanced, reliable braking setup suitable for everything from daily drivers to cherished classics from the 1960s.

Each disc is produced to fine tolerances, ensuring consistent thickness, hardness, and ease of installation. A detailed online catalogue makes it simple for technicians to find the right component, whatever the vehicle. Like the pads, the discs come with a no quibble 3-year/36,000-mile warranty and undergo extensive testing on disc integrity, thermal stability, and DTV under demanding conditions.

A non-directional finish helps keep noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) to a minimum while promoting even material transfer for quicker bedding-in. The innovative design includes coated hubs and edges for seamless replacements, while uncoated friction surfaces prevent brake pad contamination and enhance braking efficiency.

Calipers

Apec calipers bring together solid engineering, practical servicing benefits, and a strong commitment to sustainability. The range includes both new units and remanufactured options, giving workshops flexibility without compromising on performance.

Remanufactured calipers follow a stringent, ISO-accredited process. Each unit is fully stripped, fitted with new internal components, tested, and signed off against a master sample before re-entering the supply chain. By reusing core castings, Apec significantly cuts emissions and resource use, supporting greener workshop practices without sacrificing quality.

A durable surface treatment enhances corrosion resistance across the entire range, and for vehicles using sliding calipers, Apec offers slider pin kits that cover over 800 applications, helping maintain smooth movement and even pad wear.

The company’s ‘Core-to-Caliper’ surcharge system makes returning old units quick and efficient, with a fast-track refund service for factors and technicians.

Driven by innovation, reliability, and a long-standing commitment to quality, Apec continues to raise the standard for braking components – offering a complete solution built to perform in every workshop and on every road.
