ifndautoparts off to a classic start

Following almost four years of development, ifndautoparts has made its public debut at the Practical Classics Classic Car and Restoration Show at the NEC.

The platform aims to simplify buying and selling car parts for both individuals and businesses in a bid to overcome the difficulties people experience getting parts for their various classic and performance machines.

ifndautoparts offers a secure way to list, sell, and buy parts, all in one place with no listing fees, and no unrelated items, just car parts.

The platform was said to receive a warm reception from car clubs across the spectrum of the historic vehicle sector.

ifndautoparts Director, Mick Lunn, said: “I think the fact that we are offering people a service that is really unique – and potentially industry-shaking – was something that both the individual enthusiasts and the car clubs instinctively warmed to. After all, anyone who is, or has restored a car will certainly either need parts, or have parts to sell. And, given that, listing parts is free, who wouldn’t be interested!”

Ifndautoparts has said a number of businesses were interested in having their own virtual shopfront on the platform, with some signing up to take advantage of the trade opportunities at the NEC show.

The ifndautoparts crew also found themselves the subject of interest from Classic Car Restoration TV Show, Paddock Speedshop, – “Restoration for a New Generation” who wanted the platform explained on camera.

ifndautoparts’ Layla Lunn, explained:“We were all a little nervous about being filmed to potentially be on the show. Ethan Blake-Jones, one of the show’s stars was great and really put me at ease. He then went on to search the platform for parts and was delighted to find several parts that they need for the Porsche 944 that is one of the shows restorations – so it turned out to be a great showcase for the platform!”

ifndautoparts is also set to appear at Petrolheadonism Underground, which takes place in the car parks around Wembley Stadium over Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th March. Its stand will be on a different scale from the debut at the NEC, showcasing the ifndautoparts platform as well as a couple of cars in keeping with the Petrolheadonism theme. Visitors will be able to check out the Nissan R34 Skyline alongside a Ferrari 458 Speciale. Those visiting the stand will also be able to try out a reaction skills machine, with prizes on offer for those who best master this piece of training kit.

The next big outing for ifndautoparts this year will be Japfest, the largest UK show for all things related to Japanese cars, taking place at Silverstone on 12th and 13th April.
