Step-by-step window regulator fitment tips for VW Golf & VW Bora
Lower the window until the window supports are visible. Loosen the bolts holding the clamps so the glass can be removed.
Use a widget to secure the glass in place while the balance of the work is completed.
Use the socket wrench to remove fixing bolts and disconnect any cables/wires from the harness to enable removal of the internal door panel.
Check the interior of the door to ensure there is no damage or loose items that could rattle around after the new parts are fitted.
If the old motor is still usable, remove the three fixing bolts and transfer this to the new door panel. Alternatively, source a new motor, ensuring it is of the OE design to avoid any fitment issues.
Install the new door panel and reconnect all electrical plugs. Connect the window switch and raise the glass support to the required height i.e. visible through the panel. Loosen the bolts and insert the window glass into the supports. Retighten the bolts. Test the window goes all the way up and down.
The door speaker is held in with rivets. Drill these out, being careful not to crack the plastic housing. Transfer this to the new door panel and re- attach using pop rivets.
Re-attach the door skin and replace all screws and covers.
