The awards, selected on the level of interest and enquiries generated by PMM’s 60,000+ readership, are a great reflection on those manufacturers and suppliers that have made a real difference to the independent garage technician’s ability to maintain the high standards expected of modern day servicing and repairs – whether this is in the form of innovative parts or tools, fault-finding equipment or garage aids such as technical data, posters and literature.
The winners in the ‘Products & Services’ category are as follow:
Autodata – Online Product Suite
The announcement that Autodata has this year added the highest amount of new content to its technical data since the organisation’s establishment 40 years ago, offers further proof that its move to a fully online platform is perfectly suited to the requirements of the modern day servicing professional.
The system includes access to technical specifications, detailed service schedules, interactive component locations, quick search for diagnostic trouble codes and interactive coloured wiring diagrams.
Mobiletron – More TPMS Sensors
Utilising its experience of supplying Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS) as OE in the Far East, Mobiletron unveiled its MORE sensor range to the market earlier in the year.
Designed to increase the speed and accuracy of servicing TPMS-equipped vehicles, the MORE sensor is a programmable universal TPMS sensor that can be used in conjunction with the company’s programming tool.
The sensors are available in 315 & 433 MHz versions and are supported by clamp in and snap on valves as well as innovative technologies.
CarVue – Garage Management Software
The cloud may be on the horizon, but the sun continues to shine on those independent workshops that embrace modern workshop management concepts. CarVue’s cloud-based service allows users to sign up and manage all aspects of a busy automotive workshop business, including appointment scheduling, managing customer vehicle and contact databases and invoicing.
As the system is accessed online directly from a web browser on a desktop, smart phone or tablet there’s no need for software installation or ongoing support.
MAFCO – Consumables Range
The popularity of MAFCO’s consumables range has once again proved that workshops would be nowhere without having the everyday essentials to hand.
Featured in April’s issue of PMM, MAFCO’s special look at consumables used by breakdown professionals included hose menders, wiper linkage repair clips, silicone tape, the flexi water hose and the Vauxhall Corsa Water Pump Pipe (pictured) – a brass equivalent to the factory fitted plastic pipe version that offers a quick and easy repair for a common fault.
