Recent research has revealed which UK town has the highest percentage of free EV charging points available to drivers.
Collated and analysed by Independent Advisor Car Insurance, Bedford has been revealed as the town with this ranking.
As part of a wider index, which explored where UK drivers have the best chance at going electric, Independent Advisor Car Insurance ranked the UK towns and cities providing the highest percentage of free EV charging points available to drivers, in a bid to help better inform those considering making the switch to EV.

While Bedford placed at a respectable five out of the top 10 towns and cities within the wider rankings, the Bedfordshire market town boasts the highest percentage of free EV charging points available to UK drivers (98%), with a generous 14.47 free EV chargers available per 10,000 residents.
Comparatively, Liverpool ranked the lowest on the list, with just 19% of chargers free to use. This equates to a lower number available per 10,000 (1.06) than London (21% / 2.26) and Newcastle upon Tyne (23% / 2.7), who both joined the Merseyside city at the bottom of the rankings.
