Stephen Petch blitzed the Somerset Stages Rally on Saturday – round two of the BTRDA Rally Championship – leading from start to finish in his WD-40 Fiesta WRC.
Petchy and co-driver Michael Wilkinson won nine out of 14 speed tests in the stunning Exmoor forests, plus a quick change on to slicks for a tarmac sprint up the famous Porlock toll road.
The Darlington driver said: “I’m delighted. The car never missed a beat. But it’s a long way from Somerset to County Durham to have a pint to celebrate!
“But in all seriousness, it sets us up nicely for a real crack at the championship. Game on! I can’t wait for the next round, the Plains Rally on May 13.”.
