Teng Tools has a history of success in the British Touring Car Championship, especially in recent years, and the company’s affiliated teams have made a strong start to the 2016 season as well.
Three years ago Teng Tools sponsored Andrew Jordan drove the Pirtek Racing Honda which won the BTCC title, in 2015 the company backed the Power Maxed Racing team which won the Jack Sears Trophy and over the last ten years Motorbase Performance have won the Independents titles several times – always with the support of Teng Tools.
The tool supplier is once again looking to be at the forefront of the sport, continuing the relationship with former champion Andrew Jordan and Pirtek Racing, now in the Ford Focuses of Motorbase Performance (pictured right) – the same car that 2016 team-mate Matt Jackson took to several victories at the end of the 2015 season.
After the first three rounds Jackson already has two wins, while Jordan has one of his own, meaning that Teng Tools cars have won three of the opening nine races.
Power Maxed Racing have worked hard on their Chevrolets during the winter and are very confident that their newly improved engines are going to make them very competitive – two new drivers are on board with the vastly experienced Hunter Abbott and BTCC rookie and star of Emmerdale, Kelvin Fletcher.
With live coverage on ITV and full race highlights shown later, plus huge crowds at the race tracks, BTCC is one of the most watched motor sports events in the UK. The coverage enables Teng Tools to gain some excellent exposure for the brand.
With three races in one day the BTCC race teams work exceptionally hard in between races often changing race set-ups to suit changing conditions or repairing damage from what are often action packed bumper-to-bumper races
The therefore need tools that are well organised and tried and tested to the extreme to make sure they do the job properly be it at the race track or in a factory or a workshop.
