Schaeffler has announced nominations are open for the first ever REPXPERT Awards, which are set to be a part of its new national REPXPERT Conference.
The conference will take place at the Manufacturing Training Centre (MTC) Coventry on Wednesday 22nd May 2024.
Matthew Selby, Sales and Marketing Director at Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket (UK), said: “We want to use our new REPXPERT Conference as a platform to recognise the best workshops and technicians operating in the sector. The REPXPERT Awards provides the perfect framework for this. Those who nominate a technician or apprentice for an award are helping to highlight the very best people in our industry.”
The REPXPERT Conference will run from 9am to 5pm with breakfast and lunch included, on Wednesday 22nd May. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis. To find out more about the event or to book, click here.
The three inaugural REPXPERT Awards, which will be announced and presented during the Conference, include: The ‘Workshop of the Year’, ‘Apprentice of the Year’ and the ‘Extra Mile award.
The ‘Workshop of the Year’ award will recognise the garage that has used their REPXPERT membership most efficiently, including scanning products, downloading technical information, watching videos, and spending points in the bonus shop. The number of successful repairs the garage makes will also be taken into account.
The ‘Extra Mile’ award will look to recognise an individual technician or garage owner who has gone above and beyond normal expectations for their customers or staff. This could include a mechanic who helped to put a critical care worker back on the road, or provided an extra level of service to customers with mobility or health issues, or supported their local community in some other way. Technicians can also nominate their bosses, if they believe they have done something extra special in support of their staff.
The ‘Apprentice of the Year’ award will be made to the most promising apprentice technician in the sector, from the nominations made by garage owners or mentoring technicians. Nominees could be those that are the most technically proficient, or those who have shown the most progress.
Matthew added: “This is your chance to honour the trailblazers, the game-changers, and those who redefine the road ahead.”
