Chris Freeman, Automotive Sales Manager at Redashe, has announced that he will be taking part in the Prudential Ride 100 to raise money for two charities close to his heart.
He said: “Last September I put my name down to ride in the Prudential Ride 100, never expecting to get a place through the ballot. You can imagine my surprise when I received a response in February to say that I’d been accepted and this has presented a great opportunity to help a couple of charities.
“The Stroke Association helped my father recover from a stroke in 2005 and also a mini stroke in 2010. He has recovered well from both events and a lot of this has been down to the help and support of The Stroke Association.
“The second charity I’m supporting is Moorfields Eye Charity. In 2006 my three year old son was diagnosed with Coats Disease, and had already lost the sight in his right eye. The support from the eye specialists at this time and all the subsequent visits has been fantastic – they are genuinely great people.”
The event, which takes place on Sunday 2nd August will see riders start out at the Olympic Stadium in Stratford before travelling through London into the Surrey Hills (Newlands Corner, Leith Hill & Box Hill) before returning back to London to finish on the Mall – a total distance of 100 miles.
Chris is still encouraging sponsorship donations to help both of these great causes, and you can support him by visiting http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/Chris.Freeman7
