NGK’s Mr Sparky has been ramping up his training in preparation for his participation in the 2022 TCS London Marathon.
The figure has been touring the UK visiting NGK customers and meeting NGK sponsored motorsport stars to help raise funds for the Down’s Syndrome Association (DSA) when he takes part in the 26.2-mile event on Sunday, October 2.
His training partner NGK Spark Plugs (UK) National Field Sales Manager, Stuart Bayne, said Mr Sparky is looking forward to finally competing after his scheduled appearance in 2020 was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
He said: “He is working hard to get fit for the day and although a couple of years older and like many maybe a few pounds heavier due to lockdown and working from home, he is determined to do his best on the day and complete the course in the best time possible.
“He is raising money for a worthwhile cause, the Down’s Syndrome Association who are committed to improving the quality of life for people who have Down’s Syndrome, promoting their right to be included on a full and equal basis with others.”
