A group of motor vehicle students at Hugh Baird College, in Liverpool, responded with enthusiasm and ingenuity when MAHLE Aftermarket set them the challenge to design and produce an innovative promotional tool for it to support its appearances at trade shows.
The result…three giant ‘filter men’ models made from MAHLE Original filters.
Taking part in the challenge were three groups of Level 1 motor vehicle students and their creations were judged by MAHLE’s National Sales Manager, Paul Grosvenor, who visited the college to select his favourite.
Each model stands eight foot tall and has been designed to split into two pieces to enable easy transportation and assembly. Bearing in mind that the winning model will be used at trade shows, the students were also asked by MAHLE to incorporate a branded literature holder into their designs.
Paul said: “The filter men should certainly attract attention to the MAHLE stand at trade shows and the students have done a good job of designing usable pieces for us. It has been great to see their enthusiasm and they seem to have enjoyed working on the project.”
As well as taking the winning model, another of the ‘MAHLE monsters’ will take pride of place at the company’s manufacturing plant in Telford.
