The 2023 IMI Award Winners have been announced at a ceremony at the InterContinental hotel in London, writes PMM’s Kieran Nee.
Congratulations go to Thomas Morris, Bridgwater & Taunton College, who tonight scooped the Full-Time Student of the Year award at Institute of Motor Industry‘s annual awards ceremony.
Other big winners on the night include George Hinkley, Scania South Mimms, who won Apprentice of the Year and BMW Group Academy UK, who left with the Contribution to the Work of the IMI award.
The IMI’s awards are held each year at the institute’s annual dinner, which was hosted once again this year by ITV journalist Nina Hossain.
Guests to the ceremony were treated to an inspirational talk from Rugby World Cup referee Wayne Barnes, who also drew upon his experience as a criminal barrister.
This year’s awards saw the introduction of two new categories, intended to reflect the “changing automotive landscape”.
The President’s Award focuses on “Environmental, Sustainability and Green Innovation in Learning with the aim of shining a spotlight on the individuals demonstrating a forward-thinking commitment to the rapidly evolving automotive technologies.”
Meanwhile, “Equity, Diversity and Inclusion” are the focus of the EDI: Championing Diversity in Automotive award.
