The Independent Garage Association (IGA) has announced a partnership between its specialist subsidiary, the Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Repair Alliance (HEVRA) and Solera Autodata.
It is hoped, the collaboration will redefine how independent garages access the technical knowledge and expert guidance needed to service hybrid and electric vehicles.
Launching this October, the service will combine HEVRA’s EV expertise with Solera Autodata’s technical data, creating a support package for independent garages.
Participating garages will gain access to EV repair guides and data created by HEVRA, integrated with Autodata’s trusted technical information. They will benefit from direct assistance from HEVRA’s team of EV experts, available across multiple channels. In addition, the platform enables technicians to upload and verify their qualifications, giving them recognised status as EV-ready professionals and helping customers identify workshops with proven expertise.
Stuart James, CEO of the IGA, said: “This launch represents a vital step in ensuring our members remain at the forefront of an industry undergoing rapid change. By combining Autodata’s trusted, comprehensive technical information with HEVRA’s specialist expertise, we are equipping independent garages with the confidence, skills, and recognition they need to not only adapt but excel in the electric vehicle era.”
Mark Tiana, Solera Business Development VP, added: “The shift to electrification is reshaping vehicle repair worldwide, and having the right data and expertise is essential for every workshop servicing EVs. With Solera Autodata’s trusted technical information, HEVRA’s specialist knowledge and the IGA’s leadership, we’re creating a model that starts in the UK and will scale across Europe and beyond, empowering the industry to service EVs safely, competitively and profitably in the years ahead.”
