The challenge to find the Best Workshop in the UK was opened by Henkel Ltd at the launch of its new vehicle repair & maintenance (VRM) website, last October.
Entrants were asked to upload a picture or video of their workshop team and explain why they thought they should win.
The Mini Cooper, Colchester team were voted to be the worthy winners. As a result the team, Jack Meekings, Mitchell Ostridge, Dean Bristow and Karl Thake, all enjoyed a full VIP hospitality day at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone earlier this month.
The winning entry can be seen here.
Passionate about the cars that they work on, the team explained, “Mixing friendship with painting cars doesn’t just make this our dream job but our way of life!”
The video shows the team colour coding a Mini Countryman from start to finish using time lapse photos.
A member of the judging panel said of the entry, “It sounds like these people love what they do, and it shows! It was an innovative entry with the time lapse video and great dance moves from the paint technician.”
Runners up in the competition were the team from Coleman Milne. Each team member received a Sonos Play 1 system.
