GMF Motor Factors has opened its 15th parts warehouse, expanding its branch network further into West Wales.
The 10,000 square foot purpose-built distribution unit, which will carry £1 million worth of stock, is at West Estate Business Park in Haverfordwest, close to Withybush Industrial Estate and Haverfordwest Airport.
It is GMF’s fifth outlet covering the region, including the recently opened Carmarthen branch at a former Unipart Automotive site, and is an ideal location from which to provide a delivery service to the coast and surrounding Pembrokeshire area.
It also allows Carmarthen’s distribution area to extend further north.
Branch Manager Steve Moon said: “Having started my career as a 16-year-old at a local motor factor and owned my own classic car components business, I’m excited to return to my roots for what is my biggest and most exciting challenge yet, opening the new Haverfordwest branch.”
Steve, whose career also includes a number of sales, branch management and product specialist roles, is supported by an enthusiastic, knowledgeable team in all newly created jobs.
GMF’s ongoing investment programme also saw it relocate, in May, one of its Cardiff branches to a larger distribution warehouse less than half-a-mile east along Newport Road. With a new warehouse dwarfing the size of the existing shop, it will allow GMF to expand its stock value to £2 million in Cardiff, as well as employ more staff and get more vans on the road, resulting in increased efficiency that will further enhance GMF’s excellent customer service.
The motor factor, a wholly owned business within The Parts Alliance business group, is celebrating 20 years of trading, having started from a single branch in Neath to become one of the strongest factors in South and West Wales, Gloucestershire and Herefordshire.
It is also currently Large Factor of the Year, having won the title for the fourth time in six years in a UK-wide automotive industry awards.
